Your words are harsh - Peres is heralding technology not denigrating Torah - when he speaks of the past, he's referring to the painful, never-ending war and when he speaks of technology, he doesn't disregard Hashem - he calls Hashem, Kodesh Boruchu - he only speaks to them of keeping their optimism - What else would you have him say? It's all for the good is what he's saying and he's supporting the young people's inquisitiveness not at the expense of Torah, but for good of all of Yisroel.
