Looking forward to the summer weeks ahead could there be a more sobering thought. The only thing more sobering than how close the Days of Awe indeed are maybe coming to the New Year with no real change in attitude and action. Between Shavuot and Rosh HaShanah is the three period between the 17th of Tamuz and the 9th of Av when the nation mourns the destruction of the Temple and the exile Jewry endures till this day.

Maybe after experiencing the season of being given the Torah an event that required national unity all Israel seriously take upon themselves to observe a practice advanced by Rabbi Yitzchak Luria the AR’I ZT’L ZY’A to accept the commandment to love every Jew every morning as preface to one’s daily activities.

Strife and disunity has never served Jewry well it is time to change. Let all who read this begin the process of healing the nation and the world
