DO NOT LET YOUR EYES DECEIVE YOU

The aftermath of Yossef’s sale (Bereshit 37: 23-36) saw a breakdown in familial relationships. Yaakov was mourning the loss of his son, Yossef, Yossef mourned being separated from his father. Reuven mourned the loss of Yossef in to slavery. Yehuda left and found himself a wife. G-D involved with creating the light of Mashiach. (see Midrash Rabbah 85:1)…

GRADUATION

The night before encountering his brother Our Father Yaakov wrestled an angel (Bereshit 32: 25-30). WHAT ARE THEY THINKING ANYWAY?

How does one envision an epic tale? Images come to mind of combat over a vast expanse where the avatars championing Good and Evil battle grappling for dominance. Yet when reads Bereshit Chapter 23 all one sees is Avraham Our Father purchasing the Machpalah Cave and field to bury Our Mother Sara from the Bene Chet.

The sale of the Machpalah is arguably the first recorded transfer of right title and interest in real estate or at the very…
