RETURN TO THE GARDEN BUYING ISRAEL

Avraham Our Father A’H sought a place to bury his deceased spouse the Matriarch Sara Our Mother A’H. Avraham purchased the Cave and Field of the Machpelah in Hevron. (See generally Bereshith 23). IGNORING THAT LITTLE GNAWING VOICE

Both Avraham and Yitzchak the Midrash (Rabbah 56:4) relates were confronted by Sma’el. The angel offered arguments to each challenging the logic of G-D commanding Avraham our Father A’H to bring his son upon a sacrificial altar (Bereshith 22:2).

READY FOR ANYTHING

G-D instructs Avram to journey to travel to “ . . . the land that I shall show you.” (Bereshith 12:1). Avram, his family and followers arrive in Canaan whereupon G-D promises this land will be given to Avram’s descendants (12:7). Although there is an existing indigenous population in the land G-D foretold their presence in the land was temporary and this is where Avram belonged.

EVEN A LITTLE MEANS ALOT

Was this a statement of praise that Noach was righteous in spite of his generation?
