TOTAL FAITH TOTAL ELUL
The spirit of Elul fills the Jewish consciousness. Twice daily Psalm 27 is recited expressing our faith and yearning for an intimate relationship with G-D. Each morning the shrill sounds of the Shofar pierce the air alerting the listener to wake up, shake off complacency and recognize what aspects of one’s life require improvement and take the steps necessary to change. THE UPSIDE
The primary aspect of Jewish New Year on 1 Tishrei is “The world is judged four times a year . . . . [On] Rosh HaShanah all creation passes before Him [G-D][in judgment] like a flock [before the shepherd] as scripture says ‘He fashions their hearts alike; He considers all their deeds’ (Tehilim 33:15)” (Mishna Rosh HaShanah 1:2) . WHY TALMUD MATTERS
Experiencing a broad range of emotions in short period of time is surprisingly not unusual.
