WHEN IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE

How does one come to grips with a situation so far from sanity, so far from humanity? Where would one begin to comprehend events that have no rationale to sustain then? Especially if one has faith? TOTAL CONNECTION

Balak the appointed Ruler of Moav perceived a threat from the advancing Bene Yisrael. After all, Sichon and Og who received tribute from their neighbors in exchange for providing protection to the surrounding kingdoms. Sichon and Og fell before Bene Yisrael, consequently Moav and Balak were scared.(see BaMidbar 22:2-4 and Rashi ZT’L ZY’A ad. loc.)

DYING TO LlIVE

An application of faith is to consider the lesson presenting itself when events coincide. Recently three prominent Rabbanim, Roshei Yeshivoth passed away, Rabbi Koppelman of Lucerne, Rabbi Lefkowitz of Bene Brak and Rabbi Stein of Telshe Cleveland.
