Avoth 1:13 THE CURRENCY OF LIFE or HOW TO CLIMB THE MOUTAINS

Hillel is commenting on achievement. Rabbi Ovdiyah Bartenura ZT’L ZY’A  sees three related lessons in the Mishna. First, one is warned that if one seeks fame through imposition and force in the guise of authority will be lost, the fame one so desperately sought will be quickly lost.…

TIME IS RUNNING TO REDEMPTION

The Holy Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Racnamstrivka ZTVK'L ZY;A told the following story he had heard from the Holy Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin ZTVK'L ZY'A who head the story from Rabbi Menachem Nachum's Great Uncle the Holy Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Racnamstrivka ZTVK'L ZY'A.  Rabbi Nachum continued; There was a certain villager who was not very learned and had no idea how to properly conduct a Passover Seder. A TALE THAT JOINS HEAVEN AND EARTH

Reciting the Haggadah in fulfillment of the commandment to recount the Exodus on the Seder night is unique. Maimonidies (Laws of Chametz and Matzo Chapter 7:1) appears to cite two aspects a general obligation to “ . . . remember this day that you all left Egypt, from servitude . . . .” (Shemoth 13:3) Rashi ZT’L ZY’A ad. loc. applies this text to daily recollection. Maimonidies also seems to agree as he notes there is a special obligation on the Seder night “And you shall tell your son on that… Continue
