ALLEGANCE TO THE KING!!!!!

Reading the Megila one comes away believing Haman is the story’s absolute villain and Achashveyrosh is an easily manipulated buffoon. While it is clear Haman had an agenda to annihilate the Jews (Esther 3:6) Achashveyrosh was no innocent.

LEADERSHIP LESSONS

Among the sacrifices described in Parshat VaYikrah is the Sin Offering brought by a Sovereign (VaYikra 4:22). Rashi ZT’L ZY’A cites the Talmud Horiyoth 10b that declares happy is the generation whose leaders acknowledge their inadvertent sins. The further implication is if mistakes are acknowledged all more so are actual sinful acts. The interpretation is based on scripture using the word Asher, when which alludes to the word Asheri, rejoice.
