Reading the Megila one comes away believing Haman is the story’s absolute villain and Achashveyrosh is an easily manipulated buffoon. While it is clear Haman had an agenda to annihilate the Jews (Esther 3:6) Achashveyrosh was no innocent.

Purim: Where to Hide the King's Crown?

They had to move the king's crown from town to town but they were worried about potential thieves. Ingeniously they decided to place the crown in the back of a simple wagon and cover it with tattered rags. This way, no one would even think it was there.
