on the Geula

I was listening to a lecture by Ms Iris Odani Elyashiv on the topic Geula and she mentioned that one of the things we should do is each try to work on our middos while also yearning for it. This makes sense since it goes in line with unity. We can each make an impact, may the Geula come soon bezrat HashemSee More

Kiruv and accomplishing two things

Kiruv doesn't have to be complex but can be simple. One of the best ways to do kiruv(outreach) is to just be a good example. Coming Together

A while ago I went to a group that was a discussion on Ahavas Yisrael, Baruch Hashem, there are many such groups. It's important because since we are human, we sometimes mess up and forget our middos. However, it's important for all us Jews to remember that good middos and ahavas yisrael is just as important as the other mitzvos. -- And if we find someone doing something wrong, we respectfully correct them. We want to help people improve, not push them further away.We can each do something,…See More

Making a difference

when tragedies happen, we are at a loss for words and have many questions. We wonder why it happened and what is the message. We don't know what the reason is. But we can deffinately do something to turn things around and do something postive.  What we should do is each of us look at what we ourselves need to work on. Whether it is better Middos(character traits), ahavas yisrael, ethics, more kavana(feeling) in prayer, mitzvos etc. we can each make a difference. May we improve ourselves in good…See More

Alleviating Hardships

Rabbi Arush in the book 'The Garden of Emunah' gives some good advice to alleviate hardships. Here's a general message from different parts of the book. His message is that in life, different situations are annoying, worrisome, sad or painful. But we should understand that it is Hashem(G-d) who gives us these situations. Why does He? We don't know. Since we don't see the big picture, we don't totally understand. That's where emunah(faith) comes in and says, even though I don't understand, I…See More
