Rav Meir Bransdorfer

Why this Blog Post?I knew that Rav Meir was a gaon and tzadik, a Dayan on the Bais Din of the Eida Charedis and a Posek. These things I knew. When I found out he was a mohel, and Hashem blessed me with my twin boys Zisha and Melech (named after the two holy brothers the Rebbe Reb Melech of Lizhensk and his borther the Rebbe Reb Zisha of Anipoli) I needed a mohel. Since I already knew those things about Rav Meir I called his son and arranged for him to be the Mohel, and circumcise my sons and…See More

Alef - the first letter, its a beginning a Reshis Chochma, it contains His unity and His wisdom and represents His Name. Wow all that wisdom packed into 1 letter lets meditate on the Alef. Imagine it as 2 yuds and a vav, thats 26 in gematria, yud=10 x2 and vav=6. 26 is off course the gematria of the 4 letter name Havay"a. Alafcha Chochma - I will teach you wisdom, the verse says. Alef represents Chochma / Wisdom.

The Talmud in Taanis 26b says that: "there are no greater Yom Tov holidays for the Jewish people like Tu B'Av and Yom Kippur", what makes Tu B'Av such a Yom Tov!?
