Welcome to the Global Yeshiva
•Disclaimer: The posted messages on this site express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of the Global Yeshiva or its employees. We are operating under the assumption that each member needs to take responsibility for his own opinion because he knows that he may be asked for proof and clarification from those more knowledgeable. Experience has shown that when someone posts something that is not in line with the Jewish Orthodox view, one of our Orthodox Rabbinical members will point this out, but we can not guaranteed this.
• The Global Yeshiva was created as a place to teach, learn and share Torah as it was handed down to Moshe Rabanu according to the Orthodox tradition. Posting articles from other "types" of Judaism or from other Religions is not permitted and the posts will be removed.
• The Global Yeshiva is a non-profit organization founded on Orthodox Judaism, therefore any activity which goes against Jewish Law (the halacha) is strictly forbidden on our website
• Generally speaking, the rules simply require respect, good manners and a little fear of one’s creator. I would sum it up by saying "Be pleasant and nice"
• We assume that you assert that you are who you say you are, and haven't provided a false name, gender identity, religion or email address.
• We encourage spirited discussion and debate but remember that disagreeing with an idea is different from attacking an individual. Be responsible for your words and respect others. We recommend that you speak to others here with the same courtesy and respect that would be expected if you were speaking to them face-to-face. Respect is circular - if you treat others with respect you'll most likely receive respect in return.
• We reserve the right to remove postings that defame or insult anyone, as well as notes that are abusive or hateful. We don't allow obscene, racist, or sexually explicit language. We also reserve the right to remove postings that are off the subject or not in a language that we support.
• If you have a complaint about another participant's posts, you can contact the hosts by using the "report an issue" icon on the bottom the page. (we will see the url) However, the Global Yeshiva does not normally take a role in mediating conflicts between participants.
• When posting, please keep your comments consistent with the subject and purpose of the conversation. We reserve the right to remove posts and whole conversations that are of an abusive or disruptive nature.
• Having good manners online means that you don't post the same note more than once. The online word for posting many times on one topic is "spamming." We don't allow spamming.
• Avoid ALL CAPITAL LETTERS when writing online, (even for titles) using all capital letters for words can seem as though you are shouting. It can be difficult for others to read and some consider it rude. If you have difficulty switching from capital letters to lowercase letters, we recommend sticking with all lowercase.
• No solicitations or advertisements in your posts are allowed. These include advertisements for your business or latest get-rich-quick scheme. Such notes add clutter and devalue conversation. We do allow links back to your website or other websites if they are an Orthodox Jewish institution or will add to the value of the Global Yeshiva. We also allow links to sound files of Torah classes you may want to discuss. We reserve the right to remove any of these links if we feel they are inappropriate.
• We may create summaries of our public discussions from time to time, and we may publish these summaries on our website, in our newsletter, or in other places. We always acknowledge the source of the summaries, provide links to the original comments, and use your name if we quote from something that you have posted.
• You must respect the privacy of individuals. This means no posting of phone numbers, addresses, Social Security numbers, or any other private information.
• You take responsibility for postings under your identification and the use of the information provided on this site at your own risk. We take no responsibility for the content or opinions posted in the forums.
• We reserve the right to remove any postings for any reason (although we have no duty to do so). Use of this service is a privilege, not a right and we also reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
• It's not required that you post, but we retain the right to "unsubscribe" people who, after a reasonable time, have chosen not to participate. We'll do that to preserve the integrity of the "discussions" as we define them.
• Members have permission to upload and link to graphics (photos) for use with their profiles and posts. We preserve the right to remove any inappropriate photos. Women are encouraged to not use photos of themselves in order to preserve the modesty of this site.
• By posting to any portion of this site you agree to abide by our Terms and Conditions of Use.
• We reserve the right to change this agreement at any time.
• If you would like to contact some references of the Global Yeshiva before becoming a member please contact us and we will gladly send you the contact information of Rabbis here in Jerusalem.
• Use good judgment, and have a wonderful time!
