• How do I report a post that is not kosher?
By clicking on the "Report an Issue" on the bottom of every page. The url is sent to the moderators. You can also use this to report typos or any other issues you have with a post.
• How do I add a blog post?
First, click on the "My Page" tab at the top of your social network. You'll see a link on the right side of the page that says, "Add Blog Post!" Click that link to start a new blog post.
• How do I delete one of my blog posts?
Start on your profile page. You will see a link in the header of the page that says "Manage Blog." Follow that link. On the Manage Blog page, check the box next to the post you want to delete and then press the "Delete" button. This will remove that blog post from your network.
• Can I upload documents to a blog post?
Absolutely. When you add a blog post, click on the blue disk icon in the WYSIWYG editor. Then select the files you wish to attach.
• Why can't I see the WYSIWYG editor when I use Safari?
Safari lacks some features required for a great WYSIWYG editing experience. If you really want to use the WYSIWYG editor, try a browser like Firefox or Internet Explorer.
• Can I post whatever I want in my blog?
As long as material is kosher you can post it in your blog. Its your blog, enjoy!
• How can I start a forum discussion?
To start a thread, click on the "Forum" tab and then on the "Start a New Discussion Link"
• Why does it say I have 15 minutes to edit posts?
To maintain the integrity of discussions and replies, we only allow members to edit posts for 15 minutes (enough time to correct a typo, while ensuring that people don't "rewrite history"). We do, however, let members delete their own posts at any time.
• Can I subscribe to a network's forum posts?
Yes. Go to the main page of the network you wish to subscribe to and click on the RSS link in the bottom left hand corner of the forum section.
• Can I sort my forum posts?
You can sort your forum posts by "Latest Replies", "Newest Discussions," or "Most Popular."
• How do I invite someone to check out the Global Yeshiva?
You can invite someone by clicking on the "Invite" tab on your network. On this page, you can invite people using either their email addresses or IDs. If you want to personalize the invitations, you can add in your invitee's name as well as a special message.
• Can I import my address book or contacts to the Global Yeshiva?
Absolutely. You can import your contacts from Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, AOL Mail or GMail. To do this, go to our homepage and sign in. Then click "View My Messages," which appears in a box on the right side of the page.
In your Message Center, click on "Import Address Book." Then choose which email service you want to import contacts from and enter your login name and password. You will see a list of contacts from your address book and be able to choose which ones you'd like to import. Once you have imported your contacts they will remain in your address book.
• I sent invitations to my friends but they say they haven't received them. What should I do?
It's possible that your invitations were flagged as spam. Please ask your friends to check their spam filters. If the invitations aren't in there, try sending them once more. If you're still not having any luck, please contact us. We'll get to the bottom of it.
• How do I make friends?
To become friends with someone you need to send them a friend request. You can do this by going to the Members page on your social network. You'll see that every member has an "Add as friend" link under his or her profile photo. Click the "Add as friend" link to send someone a request to be your friend.
• How do I block a member from sending me messages?
You can easily block people from contacting you. Click "block messages from this person" on any of the messages they send you. This will prevent them from contacting you in the future.
• What's a Chatterwall?
A Chatterwall is a place where you can leave a note on another member's profile for everyone to see.
• How do I change the appearance of my page?
Click on the "My Page" tab at the top of your social network. Then click on the link at the top of that page that says "Edit Page Appearance." You can now customize the look of your page to your heart's content!
• How do I change my profile picture?
You can change your profile photo by clicking on the "My Page" tab that appears at the top of your social network. Under your current photo, you should see a link that says, "Change my profile photo." Follow that link to change your profile photo. Please note that it can take up to 30 minutes for your new photo to show up.
• How do I delete myself from the Global Yeshiva?
Click on the "My Network Settings" link on the right hand column of any page. You will be directed to the "My Network Settings" page. Click on the button that says "Remove my profile from..." to delete yourself .
• How do I add photos?
You can add photos by clicking on the "Photos" tab that appears at the top of your social network. You can upload photos from your computer, mobile phone or email account.
• How do I delete a photo?
To delete a photo, go to that photo's detail page. A link that says, "Delete" should appear below the photo. Clicking on this link will delete it.
• How do I create an album?
You can do this by clicking on "My Albums" and then clicking on "Create an Album." From there you're able to add in photos from the network you're on and choose the specific order of the photos. Once you've done this, click "save" to see your final product.
• How do I change the order photos show up in a slideshow?
The best way to change the order of photos in a slideshow is to put them in an album. You can do this by clicking on "My Albums" and then clicking on "Create an Album."
On the Create an Album page you can choose which photos you'd like in your album and specify their order. Once you've done this, click "Save" to see your final product. On the lower right side of the page, a mini slideshow will be playing. Click "view this slideshow" to see it full screen. You can also click the "Embed" button to get code to put this slideshow on your blog or MySpace page.
• How does the RSS module work?
The RSS module lets you add content from an external website to your social network via a web feed. If you enter the site address of a feed into the RSS module, it will be displayed on your network and updated at regular intervals.
• How often does the RSS feed reader update the feed shown on my site?
The RSS feed reader updates once an hour.

• What can I do with the text boxes?
The most obvious place to add widgets, videos, photo slideshows, or text links is in the Text Box feature.
The Text Box also shows up by default on your member profile page.
The Text Box supports some HTML (see definition below) and can be easily used to add text links to sites off the Global Yeshiva, display a video from YouTube , or add a photo slideshow from Slide.

• How do I add a widget?
The widget provider will give you 'embed' code for the widget. All you need to do is insert the code into the text box and click the save button. Here are a few great widgets to try.
• How do I upload a video?
You can upload a video by clicking on the "Video" tab and selecting "Add a video." You can add videos from your computer, cell phone, email account, or any service that provides video embed code like YouTube or Google Video.
• What formats of videos can I upload?
We support .mov, .mp4, .mpg, .avi, .3gp and .wmv video formats.
• I just uploaded my video. Why does it say it's "converting"?
After you upload a video, we need to convert it to Flash so that your visitors can watch it without needing to install any additional software. This process usually takes between 5 and 20 minutes, depending on the length of your video. It might take a bit longer if a large video is the queue in front of you. If your video still hasn't converted after a few hours, please contact us, and we'll get to the bottom of it.
• How do I delete a video?
You can delete a video by going to that video's detail page. A link that says "Delete" should appear below the video. Clicking this link will delete it.
• I just uploaded my new profile photo but my old one is still showing up. Any idea what's going on?
It takes about 30 minutes for new profile photos to appear. If it still hasn't shown up after an hour, contact us and we'll figure out what's going on.
