"Abayudaya, Anusim, Ashkenazi, Bene Ephraim, Bene Israel, Bnei Menashe, B'nai Moshe, Beta Israel, Bukhorim, Chuts, Juhurim, Krymchaks, Karaim, Lemba, Mizrahi, Qartveli Ebraeli, Romaniotes, ...

... Sephardic, Subbotniks and Teimanim."

If someone, a Gentile, discovers that for some reason, their parents lied, that they were Jewish and not Gentile, if this person now wants to be Jewish; does it matter which type of Jewish customs they follow? (ex. if they need to convert, male, female, etc).

Curiosity overwhelms me as to what some of the names in the title are.
It's different ethnic groups of Jews around the world.

A person could be likened to someone who has no traditions and could attach themselves to any group they become affiliated with.
Abayudaya & Lemba are NOT (yet?) Jewish. B"SD
After DNA checks, R. 'Amar's pesaq on the very pleasant Benai Menashe & Benai Moshe & Benai Efrayim seem to have very weak connections.
Ironically, the Lemba have strong DNA connections, while the Abayudaya have none.

I've heard R. Leff say that he referred the following question to R. Eliyashiv, an Ashkenaziya divorced her Ashkenazani husband & he TOTALLY disappeared from their life, including his son or sons. She remarried a Sefaradi man while they boys were infants & he wanted to take "his news sons" to schul with him. R. Eliyashiv FORBADE it because they are Ashkenazim. R. Dawidh Yosef, on the other hand, said that following ethnic Jewish customs is simply a nedher (vow) & can nullified in front of Beith Din.

I know of several cases where a child absorbed the customs of the new parent and even got a psak from the community leader which is a big Rav.
