How one experiences an event depends on perspective. The punishments detailed in the Tochacha, Rebuke (Devarim 28:15-69) depicts a series of disastrous consequences if nation behaves faithlessly. The Ohr HaChaim ZT’L ZY’A (28:15) understands faithfulness has three elements, a commitment to Torah Study, observance of those mitzvoth requiring one to refrain from acting and those mitzvoth requiring action.
